Moving into your first real home is a joyful experience, but it can also be stressful if you have to be out of your apartment before your new home is ready to move into.

That’s exactly what happened to Megan and her fiancé Zach, a couple of soon-to-be homeowners left—temporarily—without a home.
Mom and Dad (and Self Storage) Saves the Day
Finding a place to sleep was easy; Zach’s parents lived nearby and were happy to have them as houseguests for a couple of weeks.
Their stuff, however, was a different story. Zach’s parents had no room for all that they accumulated in their apartment, but they did have a suggestion—rent a storage unit just down the street. Next, they took quick photos with their phones of everything they’d be moving, then sat down and looked at the size guide. They’d be moving the following items:

• 8 boxes of clothing and shoes
• A couch, chair and ottoman
• A TV and bookshelf
• A microwave
• A bed, dresser, and nightstand
The couple decided that a medium-sized storage unit of about 150 square feet would adequately meet their needs.
With that decision made and a huge weight off their shoulders, Megan and Zach got back to their wedding planning—and looking forward to their life together in their new home.
